In 2026, the global run Wings for Life World Run will again take place in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia and one of the smallest European capitals.
It is characterised by an interesting mix of different influences. It is located at the intersection of different cultures, geographical regions and historical events, half way between Vienna and Venice.
Ljubljana is a green city with a green soul, where visitors can discover the best hiking opportunities in and around Ljubljana. The area on either side of the river with its picturesque bridges and the central market owes its distinctive appearance to the great architect Jože Plečnik. The city of thousands of events is surrounded by parks and areas of protected nature. With its central location, it is an excellent starting point for visiting other parts of Slovenia, the coast or the highest mountain in Slovenia, Triglav.
