Wings for Life World Run2026

Ken Delissen was explaining a new exercise on the trampoline as a gymnastics teacher. Something went wrong, he landed on the iron edge and broke his neck. After several complications he is now paralysed up to his neck. All his plans, goals and ambitions were swept aside in one go. He gets around in his special wheelchair, steering with his chin. He can speak, but his breathing apparatus makes it very difficult. However, after an incredibly difficult period and with the help of all the people around him, Ken decided to look ahead instead of focussing on what could have been. His second life, as he calls it. He participated in Taboe with Philippe Geubels and wrote down his full story in his book Yes You Ken! A strong man, with an even stronger story. And an outspoken supporter of spinal cord injury research, of course. Together with many others, he calls for people to run on Sunday, May 5, 2024 for those who can't. Are you in?
