It’s go time! First locations revealed for Wings for Life World Run – and registration is open
Big news: The first locations for the 2025 edition of the Wings for Life World Run have been unveiled, and you can sign up for your favorite right now! That includes amazing App Run Events in over 30 countries (with lots more to come), plus the seven Flagship Run destinations for Race Day on May 4, 2025. Check them out here.
As always, by registering you’ll be supporting spinal cord research together with people around the globe, including Wings for Life World Run Ambassadors like Brazilian football star Neymar Jr., South African rugby icon Siya Kolisi, US skiing legend Lindsey Vonn and world-record Norwegian hurdler Karsten Warholm. And here’s more news: Following the biggest summer of his career, Olympic champion pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis is sharing another of his passions – helping to find a cure for spinal cord injury – as he joins the Global Ambassador ranks.
“I’m super excited and honored. I think it’s such an amazing initiative.”, says the Swedish-American sensation.
Running for those who can’t – it’s such a beautiful event and a beautiful thing to be a part of. It’s something really special and I just can’t wait.
Of course you can run against the Catcher Car on your own, wherever you are, with the Wings for Life World Run App. But if joining others in an App Run Event fits your vibe, you’ll be able to walk, run or roll against the backdrop of a dramatic skyline such as New York City, Hong Kong or Expo City Dubai. Or maybe you’re interested in another other fantastic destination, like the cultural, music and sporting hub of Leipzig, Germany. Or South Africa’s “Adventure Capital,” Cape Town. How about the inspiring combination of ancient heritage and contemporary culture in Guatemala City or a setting that offers both the sea and mountains nearby, like Melbourne, Australia or Vancouver, Canada?
That’s just to name a few, and more are being added all the time. (There were over 350 App Run Event locations in 2024 alone, so if you don’t see one in your area yet, keep an eye on our Locations page.)
When it comes to Flagship Runs, the cities for the 12th edition of the run are Vienna, Austria, where the route includes iconic landmarks like City Hall and the Opera House; Zadar, Croatia, with a start line at the ancient Roman Forum; Munich, Germany, where the run begins in Olympic Park; Breda, the Netherlands, featuring the charming city center; Poznań, Poland, another city-center start showcasing renowned landmarks; Ljubljana, Slovenia, a postcard-worthy setting with a rich history; and Zug, Switzerland, where the scenic course reveals the Alpine foothills. All seven destinations sold out in the 2024 edition – Poznań within minutes! – so it’s never too soon to sign up.
Free adidas Running Premium Membership
As if all this wasn’t enough motivation to sign up, everyone who registers for the 12th edition of the run by December 31, 2024 will receive a free, six-month adidas Running Premium Membership. Among its many features is a unique training plan created especially for the Wings for Life World Run.
After seeing Wings for Life World Runners shatter records in 2024, International Sports Director Colin Jackson is eager to see an even bigger result in the next edition.
“With registration opening for over 30 locations, the Wings for Life World Run community is buzzing,” Colin says. “Signing up right away doesn’t just help to secure a spot at your preferred start line – it also means you’ll already be sharing in the pure joy of this event.”
Wings for Life CEO Anita Gerhardter adds, “Funds raised from the 2024 Wings for Life World Run are already going to work in cutting-edge research and clinical trials around the globe, and our experts have now begun the assessment process for our next round of support. We’re so excited about the promise of emerging research approaches, and this progress is possible only though the money raised from the Wings for Life World Run. Every participant makes a real difference!”
Remember, 100% of your entry fee goes towards spinal cord research. So, why wait?
